The Challenge.

The founders of Bamboo saw success in their deployment of the Bamboo Rewards platform. The iPad Apps and Web App that Simpalm developed allowed clients to monitor the activity of their gaming cafes and reward the customers for their loyalty through milestone tracking and custom promotions. The Bamboo founders saw the potential for an enhancement to the platform that could help to better serve the customers, who very often would be redeeming cash rewards at these locations. The redemption process required the customers to interact with an on-site merchant, which created friction in the process at these busy locations, and so the founders sought a way to streamline and automate this process of redeeming cash rewards.

The Solution.

Simpalm worked with the Bamboo team to create a web based kiosk application that would be used at a kiosk terminal. The web app would mirror the functionality of the existing Bamboo Customer iPad app, which lets customers login to their accounts, acquire loyalty points, and redeem rewards. This app however would be set up in kiosk mode on a portrait oriented, touch screen monitor for a grander user experience, and it would offer the additional feature of redeeming cash rewards directly from the terminal. The kiosk would be connected to a cash dispensing machine, so that when a customer redeems a cash reward it will be dispensed directly below. This would streamline the redemption process by removing the need for the customer to seek the assistance of an attendant.
